Did you ever find out where you were at on the waitlist?

No, they said they aren’t giving that information out this semester. I doubt many from the alternate list will get in again, it’s my 3rd time on this stupid list ?

I have a friend that got into the Yuba program & is on her 3rd semester and when she applied the cut off was 79 points ??

When was that? 79 points cut off cannot be true.

No, maybe it was 69, because even this semester cut off was 72

That's right. Cut of used to be 67.5 then 69-69.5, then 70 and now it's 72.

IDK maybe , but that’s what she said. I didn’t get accepted into the program. I had all B‘s in my science classes so I might need to retake a class and get an A on one of them ?

I don't think retaking class will increase your GPA.

How many points did you apply with this time?

I don’t think you’re able to retake sciences. From my knowledge, you have to have a D/F to petition to retake it. If you have a C or higher you’re unable to retake it. I do know that if you do retake it at another college, Sierra college deducts 5pts for repeating a science course.

You can retake a science course for recency if you're applying to a different program, like ARC. The course has to be completed within 5 years I believe.

Agree.

I'd try to get 90%+ on TEAS and get points for degree or healthcare experience.

Overall for Yuba I'd air for 75+ points in order to get in.

Sierra, ARC, Butte, SCC are not Merritt based.

I applied to SCC, ARC, SIERRA, BUTTE more than once and didn't get in because of the stupid lottery based system.

Yeah but I wouldn’t want to just wait to try and retake a course again. That’s what is so hard about nursing programs you literally have to get A’s in all your sciences with merit based programs or else you’re pretty much SOL because others will have more points. Sucks because retaking sciences is what will bring people up a bracket with points even with 90% on TEAS.

I got B’s in A&P/Micro and A’s in pharm/patho and because of that, even with a 90% on the TEAS I’ll only be sitting at 72pts.
