Your Experiences as a Nurse?

Published

Hi, I am currently a pre-nursing student at Texas Tech University. I plan on becoming a neonatal nurses practitioner. I am doing a school project and would like to ask everyone some questions concerning their experiences in the nursing profession. I appreciate everyone's input. Thank you for taking the time to reply to this post as it really helps me understand more about nursing.

1. What is your current role, past experience, and educational path?

2. What are your current job responsibilities?

3. How do you perceive nursing has changed since you graduated nursing school?

4. How do you integrate HIPAA rules to maintain patient confidentiality?

Once again, thank you for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate it.

Hello, and Welcome to AN! :)

I'm going to do you a kindness, and tell you why your request for answers to complete your homework project will go...well, unanswered.

These projects are designed to "force" you to interract directly with live, working nurses. These kinds of interview assignments offer an abundance of opportunity to learn what questions to ask, how to understand the answers, and what you can deduce from having had the experience.

What is NOT a good idea is posting requests for this information on an anonymous messge board! Here, anyone can (and they do) say they are professional nurses....and sometimes they aren't. A CNA is not a nurse; a MA is not a nurse; a nurse is not an MD, a nursing student is not.....you get the idea.

To appropriately complete your assignment, I'd recommend calling a hospital and asking to speak with a nurse recruiter, HR, anyone who can put you in touch with a nurse who would be willing to help you. You will find many! You can also call medical practices, outpatient treatment centers, anywhere and everywhere you can expect to find nurses.

Good luck to you! :)
