My sister is 23. (i'm 24).
She called me the other day, crying about her boyfriend thinking he was cheating on her. He said her lady parts smelled like a latex condom (that they hadn't been using). Thought she was cheating on him b/c of this. (Yes, this is getting to the point....)
She's so upset, she can't think what would possibly make her lady parts smell that way. She says "well you're a nurse, I thought you would know."
She even asked if I would come to her house and smell it. I really HOPE she was kidding, but I don't think she was.
I got in some good education though, telling her about the need for a STI test (she says "I was tested a year and a half ago, and I haven't slept with anyone else since"), birth control (they aren't using condoms or any other bc but no, she's not trying to get pregnant, and doens't want to be pregnant), the need to see a gynecologist, etc.
SO!that may be the absolute strangest conversation i've had b/c someone knew I was a nurse.
WHen I worked L&D, a nurse I worked with had a great answer when someone asked her a health question-like at a party or something; "honey, I'm a L&D nurse, and unless you have a baby coming out of it, I can't help you." In addition to that, on our unit we used to keep a notebook (this was pre-hippa) that was entitled "I can't believe it" that we recorded the obvious....it was so funny

I don't know if this is gonna get edited (and I won't be hurt if it does, Wolfie) but I have definitely been asked to assess post-coital rectal bleeding, before I was even accepted into n school. The answer? Uhhh, go to the doc, honey. That doesn't sound so good.
