Yearly salary in Georgia hospitals

Published

Hi everyone!

What is the yearly pay scale for new BSN grads at Emory, Wellstar, Northside, Grady, and Piedmont Hospitals? I will be graduating from nursing school soon in NY and was still undecided to move to Atl. I have researched online for pay scales and I saw Emory had the highest but I'm hearing different from other nursing students that go to school in GA. Is there anyone that work at those hospitals that could tell me?

Thank you!! 😊

As a new grad you will earn around $27.00 give or take in a hospital setting - depends on unit and shift. You will not make as much as you do in NY. You also need to have your Ga license or at least a temp one before applying as the job market is tough here and more so for new grads or those w/o experience. LTC facilites pay $20-$25, MD offices, if they hire RN's about the same.

You can go to glassdoor.com to see more. Salary.com always seems a little off but is also a place to check. A lot of the hospitals career sections will list the salary range.

Thank you so much for the response! I will keep searching for the best salary base job and hopefully work with great co-workers! Lol so excited! I found out that I could obtain a licensure for 6 states, I will surely obtain that before I move! Thank you! ☺️

Base for new grads at Grady, Piedmont, Northside, and Emory are $23-25. However, most new grad positions are nights, so with diff it's more like $27-29. Not sure about Wellstar, but it's probably around there as well. I've heard that Piedmont is on the higher end (I think $25?) but you should factor in your benefits package - Emory and CHOA, for instance, both have excellent benefits.
