yearly salary Ambulatory Surgical Center

Published

Greetings! I have been trying for an OR RN position with local ambulatory surgical centers. I have interviewed for one and loved the facility and staff I met. I have another interview coming up as well. My only concern is salary. The hourly pay is higher than my hospital job but I have heard that you often don't get your full hours each week so hence the higher hourly wage. Would any nurses be willing to tell me what there annual salary is so I can compare to my current position? I don't mind having dry spells in hours as long as I make up for it in overtime. Its the yearly salary that concerns me. Thanks in advance.

Unless nurses who respond are in the same area as you, the information isn't really going to be that helpful as salaries vary from place to place based on cost of living and other things. Someone in New York City is going to be making a heck of a lot more than someone in rural Mississippi. Salary.com isn't that reliable either, as it averages wages for all levels of experience without making a distinction between new grads and those with decades of experience. Your best bet may be to ask around to people working in ASCs about what their actual weekly hours are and what their salary is.

Sorry about that. I thought I included location. I'm in North Texas. Actually I am open to hearing from nurses across the country. I'm transitioning from hospital to ASC and would like to know what to expect salary wise. Thank you

Im a new graduate in NYC and recently got an OR job at a clinic which pays...17 dollars an hour. Yea, the pay is very veyr LOW, especially for an NYC job, but i was desperate and wasnt sure if I would get any other job for now, since I was told I have no experience. :(

Do you think it is worth it to stay? I plan to leave as soon as I get something else. The pay is not helping me at all, and the place is very disorganized and hardly any job orientation...

It's definitely tough being a new grad because you take whatever job comes. I also was afraid not to take the first job offered. Now I'm trying to do what I really wanted to do. Grateful for the experience I'm getting for the time being.

I can only go by my area Xaldin but I'm pretty sure 17 an hr. For an RN is pretty low. The lowest GNs start here is about 23 to 24 an hour. Good luck in your pursuitsí ½í¸Š
