Yale MSN-FNP vs. Emory MSN-FNP

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hey,

I"m trying to make a decision between yale's msn-fnp and Emory's msn-fnp program. I would love to hear students who are currently or have graduated from YALE's MSN-FNP program especially. I.e did they feel like they were prepared well afterwards to take on a job? Is yale's MSN more theory or practical based? And do you think the Yale name really matter? Also are there opportunities to obtain a scholarship? Cost wise for both schools they are also the same. Just trying to get more info, to make my decision a bit easier. Thanks!

sorry, i do not have an answer for you... :( but, may i please ask you what was your GPA, GRE, and experiance as RN when you applied to Yale MSN-FNP? Thank you in advance for your time.

(ps. I will be happy if you can give me some info, that you think that i should know, regarding Yale MSN application process)

You have some great choices. Although I can't help you personally because I'm only applying to Emory this year as a direct entry student, but from what I have heard via personal contact with the school, clinical rotations, and commitment to your future I think Emory is such a great program! I don't know much about Yale, sorry since I would prefer to apply to Emory and go there. Hope you get the answers you are seeking :)

If you don't mind me asking, what GPA did you apply with to Emory's MSN FNP program? I'll be applying with 1 year of RN experience, a 3.5 nursing GPA (cumulative GPA about a 3.4), and did an ABSN program. I'm nervous that my GPA isn't competitive enough. How competitive is the program?
