Okay, I know it's early, but Yale is my first choice, and I'm already terrified that I'm going to screw it up. My goal is New England (although I'm also applying to Pace because they have this Science Summer thing for those of us who haven't taken anatomy yet), and I want to be a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner.
I eventually want to either have a mobile clinic for poorer older folks who can't afford more traditional options or who are home-bound, or make home-calls in some other way.
I think Yale will help me get there, but I don't think I'll get in. I have a lower GPA (but still above a 3.0) from UC Santa Cruz, and I spent the last two years teaching in Taiwan, only to find out I don't like teaching very much. I'm taking my GREs in three weeks and I'm starting some prereqs this summer.
I'm also applying to Simmons, Pace, Northeastern, MGH and Boston College.
Before I ramble on any longer, anyone else applying?
I'm with you guys I have been checking my email constantly because I also noticed that people started receiving emails on the 8th.
Ms. Determination, I applied the PMH specialty! I did not get to meet any of the faculty, although I would have liked to. Are you doing adult or child/adolescent? Also, how were you able to sit in a class and how was it/how did you like it?
Hi Everyone,
The waiting is definitely stressful, but in a way I've been grateful for a little "quiet" since the fall has been so extremely busy with working full time, taking two classes, applying all over the place, etc. In some ways, I like the fact that (at least as of now) all options are open, no doors have been closed yet, so I can just be hopeful.
Hope each of you is warm and dry wherever you are (it's storming here).
Good luck to all!
Does anyone know...if we're not offered an interview, do we just get silence? Or do we get a consolation email?
I just spoke with Sandy and she informed me that interview emails will go out late this week and early next week. If we are not offered an interview we will be notified via email as well during the same time.

I have a 3.2 and nearly no science courses. I mean, yes my test scores were good and I lived overseas for a couple of years...but what are they really looking for? I think starting the 10th I'll be checking my email 20 times a day.
