Xavier college stockton ca should I enroll?

I don't know Xavier from Adam, but I did check their BVNPT accreditation and theirs is set to expire tomorrow. I don't know if they've been approved for reaccreditation because the BVNPT hasn't updated their page (as far as I know) to reflect that status. I also checked their pass rates, and so far, they're "hovering" around 80% over the past few years. It might be a good idea to contact the BVNPT to verify their accreditation status.

They may be quite good, I have no idea, but it would behoove you to double check any school you apply to so that you can be sure you're applying to a properly accredited program.

The question is not really if Xavier College in Stockton is a poor quality school, or the fact that Xavier College is very expensive, or that the pass rate is declining, but whether or not you can get a job once you complete your LVN? Unless you know something I do not there are virtually no jobs for LVNs and you really need to be an RN or at least a psychiatric technician or psychiatric nurse to get a job. Almost a third of the LVN programs have shut down in California because there are essentially no jobs.

The other issue is that "colleges" such as Kaplan or Xavier Nursing College in Stockton are actually just adult or trade schools. Xavier College in Stockton is not accredited by WASC as an institution of higher education but it is simply licensed as a trade tech or adult school. A place like Xavier College in Stockton is really no more a college than a "barber college." This is fine if you have the money and can not get into a community college nursing program and all you want is to pass the LVN board, but the classes taught at Xavier Nursing College in Stockton can not transfer to a college of higher education, even a community college such as Delta in Stockton, so if you want to later pursue a BSN, you will basically start all over again at the bottom.

My advice is get into the nursing program that leads to being an RN or psychiatric technician or psychiatric nurse program at someplace like San Joaquin Delta College. This will lead to a good paying job, or better yet get into a BSN program.

Take the $21,000.00 and enroll in real college and get a degree or credential that has a future, or instead of enrolling in Kaplan or Xavier College in Stockton, buy Lotto tickets, this is a lot more fun and you are far more likely to be making money!!!

Hi! I graduated from Xavier in May of this year and it was great! They are actually in the process of expanding and they just bought a new building! I would rate my experience as a 10. We got acute care experience that you really don't get from any other LVN school. I graduated May 5th, took my NCLEX on June 6th, and was offered a position pending my license the next week. I have now been working for a couple weeks. Everyone I have talked to from my class has passed so far, and most of them already have jobs too!! I looked into Kaplan and Carrington but those schools are only focused on the money. Xavier is a privately owned school and they actually care about the students. They work with you to make sure your learning. I still keep in contact with my teachers. At Xavier they do ATI testing, which really prepares you for the NCLEX. They use them as the finals. I honestly think it helped me pass my NCLEX. I already have my prerequisites done from Delta so I plan on going into a community college RN program next year after I have some experience. It is a lot easier to get into a RN program as an LVN, and the program is only two semesters. Many of my classmates had kids and did just fine. The schedule was a little tough, but you get used to it. Most of the time it was three days of clinical a week, which is more exciting then sitting in a classroom. Actually being at the hospital and seeing surgeries is exciting. The entrance exam isn't too bad. It is the TEAS test, but does not include the sciences. All in all I would definitely recommend this school! Sorry my response was kind of scattered! I tried to answer all your questions!

Hi Student 43, I am a recent graduate of Xavier College, in Stockton. I as a matter of fact am the oldest person to graduate from the school. It is worth the money. Anyone can put lip stick on a pig to make it look good but it is still a pig... Don't judge a book by it's cover. The instructors are very caring and helpful. They don't coddle you they expect you to do the work and in the end when it is done and over with you will be thankful for the Tough love.-------------, does everything she can to make sure you are prepared for your career as a nurse and to take the NCLEX. It is a very intense 11 month course and you will question your sanity on why you are doing this to yourself. And then you realize you are about to graduate and you have put the blood, sweat and tears in to your career choice and yes there will be tears and for some of us more then other. But, like everyone kept saying if it was easy everyone would do it. If you want to become a nurse do the hard work. Xavier College, may not be beautifully decorated but you aren't there that much anyway and who care its not the building that matters anyway it's the people in it. And the people that are there are caring and working for your success. Sometimes harder then you do...... So if you haven't decided yet take a second look. I know you will be happy that you chose Xavier College. And good luck on your future choices.....
