Write RN without CGFNS in California

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi All,

I need an urgent help. Currently I am working in Saudi Arabia as a registered nurse. I would like to come to USA to write RN exam. One agent is ready to help me to arrange H2 (work visa) visa for me which will allow me to work in one of the hospitals in California as a nursing assistant. In this visa I can work there for 3 years. During these 3 years I can take RN exam and after that I can work anywhere in USA as a Registered Nurse and can sponsor my spouse and kid in Green Card. These are the promises given to me by the agent. He is telling that the US counsulate has aproved my visa, within 3 months I can go to USA. So I need to pay the fees for the agent now (Around 3000 USD now and 3500 USD after getting the visa). I am not sure about this process. Is there any legal agencies are working like this? Is this a legal process to get the H2 Visa? Please let me know about the details of programs like this.

Thanks & regards

Lena

Run as fast as possible from that. There are new rulings that just went into effect for nurses from India, Philippines, and China. Also, I don't know of any nnursing asssistants being covered under H2 visas. You are gettting taken advantage of.

Thanks ssstollman,

So you are telling that you are not aware of any nursing assistants like this?

I am worried that this agent is a fraud or not? How can I make sure that it is not a fraud agent ? Any idea?

Thanks

Well, she is from saudi arabia and not from india, phils,or china...that means she is not under the new restriction.

We have nurses here in Texas that came from India and worked as CNA's under working visa. They took their NCLEX (under Vermont state - they said because there are no TSE/TOEFL required), they passed, applied for reciprocity of license. Now, they are working as RN's under working visa with 3 years contract. The hospital is now processing the conversion of their work visa to immigrant visa.

They paid $10,000, though.

Specializes in Medical-Surgical.

If her birth country is one of the affected countries then she is in for the long wait. I wouldn't advice her to sign if she is from one of this countries.

There is a new visa bulletin released restricting the permission of working visa to nurses from philippines, india and china. You can apply to write NCLEX- RN in USA directly to any state of board of nursing. This website will help: www.ncsbn.org. By doing your own way, I believe you can seek licensure and eventually find nursing job in USA. Better get rid of agencies.:)

There no longer a "working visas" for RNs. The same requirements must be met as for a green card. In order to get a Visa Screen Certificate now, which is required, they must have pased the English series. This has nothing to do with what the state requires, this is a federal mandate. And since they are from Inida, they fall under this new quota.

The nurses that you are talking about came to the US when the other laws were still in place, but not any more.

I am telling you that you will have problems getting a legal visa. The agent can promise you anything, but that doesn't mean anything. He does not grant the visa, the US government does, and they are getting quite strict right now. Especially in this case, so be very careful.

The saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. If you were one of my students, I would tell you to stay as far away from something like this as you possibly can. You will only be coming over here as a "slave laborer" and it is inappropriate for anyone to be treated that way.

What type of salary did they promise you? what about housing arrangements? What area of the city would you be living in?

If they are offering you $10 per hour or even $12 per hour to work as a NA, that comes to $400 per week which sounds like alot of money, but when you add in taxes, and food, and transportation, you are left with nothing, and are then considered even below poverty level. I would seriously think this over.
