Wright Tech or other State LPN Programs....

Hi,

A good friend of mine will be starting at Wright Tech's LPN Program starting in late Aug. and I was wondering if anyone who is in the program or who has recently graduated from it can tell me how much homework & studying time is needed each day? Or, anyone who is enrolled in the other state LPN programs (Bullard Havens, Eli Whitney, etc.) - if you can tell me how many hours you put into studying each day that would be great. My friend was told by someone that studying 1.5-2hrs a day will be enough, whereas I am thinking she will need to put in more time in order to do well. She also intends on working a few hours right after class each day then going home to cook, then study. My friend is thinking that the LPN course at Wright Tech will be easy. Any insight would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I just graduated from Bullard Havens and I would say I put in about two hours per day of studying. Sometimes the day before a big test I would study more.

In my opinion, the program is harder at the beginning than towards the end. You start with 5 theory days and than after about three months, you go to clinical 2 days and have 3 days of theory. Than you go 3 days clinical and 2 days of theory. And than at the very end, you go 4 days of clincial and 1 day of theory.

So in the beginning, harder because you may have several tests per week so more studying time needed.

They also have a very strict attendance policy, you CANNOT miss more than 7 clinical days for the WHOLE ENTIRE program. When you have kids, it is hard!!!

The whole studying thing is that everyone studies/absorbs info in different ways. Some people need to study more than others. There were girls in my class that got straight A's and said they didn;t really study. I NEED to study ALOT to get that A.

:DHi Bethy

Hey You!!!:D Ready for the Nclex?? I go August 11!!!!!
