I know here in maryland you have to renew it every 2 years and if not you have to do the whole class over again..

You're going to want to check with your state, because I am pretty sure the rules are different from state to state. I know here in Maine, CNAs have to work one 8 hour shift per year in order to stay active on the registry.

Good luck to you. :)

most places you need to have had worked an 8hr shift in the past 24 months to keep it active...call the registry for the state you got it in to see what they say...this is good for texas and ohio...

i know i just had to re-take my classes and certification because i didn't work in a 24 month period...blah!

:) on a good note though the classes were great refresshers and i passed the class with a 99.3% woo hoo! now i have to re-take my state test on the 26th and i'm good to go...good luck!

Check with your state, some states will allow you to re-test, others will make you take the whole course again. You are allowed to re-test in most states because it is a CERTIFICATE not a license. Just check with your state.
