  1. Would you work as an IC if you ended up making more at the end of the year?

    • I definitely would. The extra money would be worth it.
    • I am not sure, that sounds like a lot of work.
    • No, I don't want to have to do the extra work. I am satisfied with what I am making.

If you were able to work for a hospital as an independent contractor and made more money, do you think it would be worth paying your own , health insurance, self employment taxes (quarterly) and social security? I am not asking if it is possible. I am simply asking for some feedback to see if you think it would be worth the extra effort if you ended up making more, say a net of about $5-$10/hr more.

Thank you for your reply. I have several questions, but I will start with the most importanat one. How do I get access to the VMS (vendor Management System)?, how do I can get a new contract with a hospital? Calling them? Visit them? Paying to somebody? I'm a cath lab nurse I a have another 5 more nurses ready to work with me. We all are cath lab nurses. I will appreciate this information please.

If you Google my screen name, IC, and FAQ, you will find a detailed description of how I started up and how I typically land contracts. Signing up with a vendor manager requires either industry experience (you've already worked with them), or luck (a hospital you are contracted with switches to a VM), or sometimes a request by a hospital for a specific traveler (very similar to how I get direct contracts).
