Hello everyone!
[Quick intro: I'm in the process of completing my pre-req's. Eventually I will be applying to 2 ADN programs and 2 BSN programs. If I am accepted to ADN and not BSN at first, I plan to complete a bridge program to obtain the BSN. ANYWAY....]
This fall, I'm thinking about taking Chemistry and Psychology together. I do have a job and have taken 3 social science/easier classes at once and got an A, and 2 B's. So I know I can handle school and work I'm just not sure if I can handle SCIENCE and work, yet.
My question is: how hard is Chemistry? Would I be able to handle Chem & Psych in the same semester and get A's even with working 25-30 hours each week?
Otherwise, I will hold off on the Psychology for a different semester.
Thoughts?
Thanks for your time,
Sarah
I think you should be fine with that load and work schedule... I'm currently working full time nights (3 or 4 12 hour shifts a week) in a residential psychiatric treatment facility and do a full load at school. I think it's all about developing a plan and sticking to it. I work until 7am, drive straight to class, have my hardest classes starting right and 8 and getting easier as the day goes on head home at 1pm and get as much sleep as I can, head to work get everything done paperwork wise early and then use my down time to study. Normally I don't have classes on back to back days so I catch up on my rest every other day. Wash, rinse, repeat...
I was a chemistry major until I didn't make it through second semester of intro!! D+. I worked SO hard at that class, my other classes suffered. Only class my whole undergraduate career that I made below a B. Until Nursing school!!!!. The math can be VERY confusing. It did help with my dose calc later when I had to make sure of units. Psych should be no problem.

See if you can get the syllabus from the college and begin reading over the summer. All the colleges I have looked at offer the syllabus online.
