I work in a Hospital that is non-union. But all the other hospitals in my area are union. Just wondering people's experience with both types of situations...thanks
Why would anyone want to continue working for such unethical people?steph
Since when it is always a matter of "wanting" to do anything? When you have children to provide for, you have to make hard choices to ensure that they're well cared for, and yes, sometimes that means collecting a salary and benefits at a job with people who have questionable ethics.

People, managment, etc with questionable ethics are brought to the table when union protection is provided. And yes it is at a cost. Just like insurance is a cost.

I have worked both. The union hospitals I have worked were more pro-active and pro-nurse due to the union interventions. Plus, the pay was much greater.
Non-union hospitals have very little to offer a nurse in my area.
