I know this question probably has other threads, but what is the worst job interview you've ever had? (Nursing or otherwise).
Mini Vent
Went for an interview a week ago. Scheduled this interview a week before with HR after she asked the hiring manager if the position was still open. Day of the interview comes, and of course I am excited. Got ready, drove over an hour to get there, paid for parking, walked up to the unit and gave the hiring manager a smile and a strong handshake. She stated she would be right back and sat me in a room. A minute later she came back saying she just offered the position to someone else.
I was blown away! A call is a simple courtesy, especially since this interview was scheduled for a week. Even if it was the same day, it would have been better to receive a call saying to not waste my time. I asked if I could ask/answer some questions if a new position popped up. She haphazardly asked one question, then said that if I apply for another position she would just have to re-interview me anyway. Then asked if I had any questions about a completely different unit than the one I was applying for! I kept it professional and tried to ask at least two questions, but I was furious at that point. I left mentally preparing for the hour+ drive home after only being there 10 minutes at most.
So, I just posted to see if I could find others to relate to. Thanks for reading this rant!

Wow. Just wow.
I got nothin' like that. I interviewed for a clinic manager position and the very overworked but amazingly strong nurse manager (who was subbing in this job, doing the work of two positions) took me on a "tour." On the tour she explained the system for how the doctors picked up the next chart. Charts were stacked on a table. It was 1630 and the patients who had appointments at 1430 were still waiting (as evidenced by their chart being "up next.")
Aside from the manager vacancy, they were all staffed up, according to my interviewer. That's just how behind they ran at this public hospital clinic.
Nope, nope nope.

Wow that is horrible!
The worst interview I ever had was for an ortho unit. A lady from HR and the units educator. Neither of them even introduced themselves. I actually had to ask the HR women what her name was. The HR women then sits down and starts ripping apart my resume how I should have this and that on there. Educator was sitting on her cell phone. Needless to say it put a very bad taste in my mouth about that hospital.
It was a horrible feeling when you are already stressed and nervous.
