I had a TB skin test administered this morning, and I am a little worried about it. Its swollen with defined edges and slightly pink. It also itches and is warm to the touch. I know its too early to read, but I don't remember this occurring the last time I had a TB skin test.
Any encouraging thoughts? I'm supposed to start school January 6. I know its not the end of the world, should this test be positive but I am still worried.

Accdg to our TOS, we are not permitted to provide medical or legal advice. Just know that the reading of a PPD occurs at 48 to 72 hours, so you're early.

I am not a doctor, so you would need to call them. Possible reaction to the serum. Give your on call nurse line a call and see what they say. This doesn't sount normal

This is correct. Since you had the PPD placed only a few hours ago, your worrying is premature. Wait the 48 to 72 hours and have it read for accuracy. If the skin test shows positive when read, you will be requested to have a chest x-ray to confirm either active or latent TB or to rule out TB.

We cannot offer medical advice as per the Terms of Service. If you are concerned call your PCP. The CDC also offers a ton of information! CDC | TB | Testing & Diagnosis
Good Luck in school!
