Worried about paying off student loan debt

Hi all,

I thank you in advanced for any replies to my post.

As I further into my BSN degree, I find myself collecting more and more student loan debt. By the time I am finished with my degree, I will accrue approximately $100,000, and this worries me- a lot. My question is:

Would anyone be able to give me some faith that I won't be killing myself paying off this huge sum? I hate to go through all of this, only to find a job that will just allow me to get by in life when trying to pay down this debt.

Is anyone going through/went through the same sitaution?

Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks

I'm sorry but you get no sympathy from me. You knew from the beginning how much it was going to cost you it's not like they sprung a bill on you a week before graduation. (The rest of the post not necessarily aimed at OP) It amazes me the number of kids applying for student loans and signing promissory notes then complaining about their loan debt.

Because most people think (or thought) they were going to get a job immediately after graduation; a TON of PEOPLE-not just "kids"; second and third career changers, people who were choosing to move up in the profession, people who are adults that have decided to take the plunge and seek higher education. A big percentage drank the Kool-Aid about the nursing "shortage" where in many places there were none, or a decrease in hiring; I took the plunge in a time where the economy was REALLY bad; yet for my career (was a LPN for many years) I knew it was something that I had to complete, and knew that it was a HUGE chance that I would have to potentially endure starting as a novice nurse when I was a proficient LPN, and it would be a long road. I needed flexibility in the market, so my student loans are totaled to one years worth of salary; it's not like the OP's yet manageable, along with my mortgage and other bills; I even save for retirement.

My cohorts had previous careers; I know a few who are still working their previous career and have nursing as a second job; they do what they have to do; so the "complaining" may be a natural response, especially when there is an optimistic sell to become a nurse; the issue is can the OP will be OK after accumulating such an amount of debt; that's is valid question that the OP has gotten answered-there is a way.
