Hello all, I am currently a nursing student in the BSN program. I am intrested in UCLA's family NP/MSN program. I am kind of worried becuase my GPA from my first bachelor's degree was a 2.45 , but BSN GPA is a 3.8. Do I have a chance of getting accepted . Do they look at cumulative GPA, I wouldn't know how to calculate it because of the 2 degrees. So, do u think I have a chance?

I believe my school looked at Nsg GPA for admission and cumulative GPA for merit scholarships. The admission counselors at your school of choice is the best person to address their policy. Good luck.

My school only looked at my last 60 hours which is what I think most schools do to make their decisions. I would suggest that you apply to more than one school. A lot of people apply to only one school and end up disappointed if they don't get in or are wait listed. So in the event that you don't get in to this school, at least you would have a back up plan. Good Luck!

I applied at several schools. I had the same scenario as you. Poor GPA for first degree and great GPA for second. Some schools add it all together which is a killer. Some only look at last 60 hours!
