Well, if you want respect, don't start out by saying "if they are working for me". They are not working for you; they are working with you. Start out by having that attitude. Take your cues from your preceptor and other experienced staff. Delegate appropriately. Remember to treat them with respect and the way you would like to be treated.

I got a first lpn job today working in acute rehab. I am very excited and nervous. I toured the facility today and noticed alot of the cnas were standing around. Can any one give me advice on how to motivate them if they are working for me ? I dont want to come off as the rude new nurse. I would like to gain as much respect from them as I can.
