it'll help if you work out your core muscles very well (strengthening the lower back and abdominals will help since we do long standing or too much lifting). after just working it out for almost a month, i noticed improvements. do whole body workout, hitting the gym at least 3 times a week will do.
i also do tennis 2x/week and basketball 1-2x/week
improving flexibility is also important!
there are a lot of fitness sites that will provide with you with the basic programs up to advance programs as you improve.
Hi All,IT's towards the end of the year and I want to start the new years to a good start.
Like a lot of people I have decided to start going to the gym.
SO, does anyone have any work outs that would help out.
Thanks!!!
Definately do weight/resistance training. Do NOT just do cardio. Many women are afraid of lifting moderate-heavy weights because they're afraid of bulking up and looking like bodybuilders...not true. Being able to lift heavier has helped me alot in the OR. Example of my workout
Day 1-Back/Biceps/Abs/30 minutes cardio
Day 2-60-90 minutes cardio
Day 3-Legs (lunges and squats kick your butt literally)
Day 4-Chest/Triceps/Abs/30 minutes cardio
Day 5-60-90 minutes cardio
Day 6-Rest
Day 7-Repeat
Core training is great since we use our backs alot. Stability balls work pretty well.
I usually change my routine so my muscles don't adapt or so i don't get bored. They need to be stimulated by changing your routine every 3 months or so. Good luck!
