Any "techniques" on just getting into a program? I currently have two applications in and will have another in by 4/15. Hinds has a waiting list and says may be a year wait!

It is hard to get in the program, the only thing you can do is wait. I know that isnt the answer you want to hear. But you have your application in, that is the important thing. Maybe call your student advisor for some tips. If you do have to wait to get in, and youre thinking of getting your BSN someday, then you could start prereqs for your BSN while waiting.

If you do have to wait and you have any courses that are less than you'd prefer for GPA purposes, you could retake them to improve your standing. You could also re-take your ACT if necessary. Guess it depends how Type A you might be
My backup plan had I not gotten accepted, was to do as the previous poster suggested and start taking courses that would work toward BSN. Others I talked to had planned to go LPN and then bridge over immediately.
When do you find out if you're accepted? Best of luck!

The best way is to wait and pray that you get in.
Had a great meeting with an AD RN program director friday. Looks as if I may get in this Fall!:) I also plan to take some classes that will apply to my eventual RN to BSN program since I already have a BS dgree and will not have to take oral comm, west civ etc.
So how much $$ can you make in Mississippi? I hearing from 18.00 hr to six figures as a nurse manager or sales:uhoh3:

Congrats!
I'm graduating in May, so have been job hunting lately. Most of the new staff RN (in LTC or hospitals) pay ranges from $16-20/hour +/- shift diff.
Good luck with school! :)
