i want to ask if it is easy for a foreigner to apply for a license in australia??

is it more or less same with nclex??

I believe it's easier than the US process. You should search this forum as I have seen threads listing the steps before (I don't know them, sorry)

anyone here who can help me how to get in oz, my mom applied me as student visa, im a new bsn grad here in philippines and planning to work there as nurse wothout getting my license here in philippines, just seeking for help and tips etc, what should i do to get there. thnx

You would need a working visa and not a student visa to work in Australia as a nurse. Check the threads already posted, as others have listed the steps to take.

You would initially need the student visa first before getting the working visa 457.

Why student visa?

Because you have to apply for the state Board of Nursing and they will require you to undergo a migrant bridging course program for overseas qualified nurse.

Upon completion of the migrant bridging course for foreign trained nurse, then you will have to look for a hospital that will soon sponsor you for the working visa.

Tell me which state in australia are you going to live work or study and ill try to do my best to help you or lead you in the right direction.

Check Applying for a License for Overseas Applicants. You can start the process even though youre still in the Philippines.

If you have a qualification gained in a country other than Australia or New Zealand and you wish to apply for a licence to practise nursing or midwifery in Queensland you need to:

1. Read the Information sheet for overseas applicants before proceeding.
   
2. Download Application package QNC1 and Checklist for overseas applications or contact us for paper copies. Carefully read the information in the package and checklist.
   
3. Complete application form QNC1 in the package. Please note: Your signature on the statutory declaration part of the form must be witnessed by a justice of the peace, commissioner for declarations, solicitor or notary public. Other signatures will not be accepted.
   
4. Arrange for verification of your licence from your most recent registering authority to be sent directly to us (we are unable to accept online verifications).
   
5. Post to us (or bring to our office):
   • the completed application form with original signatures
     
   • certified copies of the following documents:
     • evidence of successful completion of a nursing course, eg: degree
       
     • the course transcript (not required for applicants from the UK, Ireland or New Zealand)
       
     • evidence of initial licence in the place where the course was completed
       
     • evidence of identification (if your name has changed please provide official evidence of the changes)
       
     • evidence of competent, licensed nursing practice within the five years prior to the application
       
     • the application fee of A$45.00 and application processing fee of A$100.

When your application has been assessed you will receive written advice of the outcome. In most cases, applicants with qualifications gained in countries where English is not the first language will be required to demonstrate English language competence and nursing competence in order to be eligible.
