The state I currently reside in will not allow me to sit for the NCLEX because I have been out of school for over 3 years. My neighboring state does not have a time limit for this and their BON told me that I could still sit for the NCLEX. Is it possible to obtain a license and work in my neighboring state while still residing in my home state? Or am I required to be a resident of the state I am working in? My neighboring state is not a compact state. Thanks for any help.

you can license by exam in any state.
