hi
i'm having some problems at work with my work schedule. currently i have a full time job and i work 4 days a week which is considered a full time at this facility. so i found another contingent job at another facility. i asked scheduling person what shift she is short of nurses and need contingent nurses so i can sign up for that shift. she said whatever days i want to work afternoon shift she will schedule me for that day. so i gave her the avaliable days i can work afternoon shift. so i went to work on afternoon shift thinking i'm scheduled to work and went to a staffing office to see what unit i'm suppose to work. the problem is i'm not in the staffing book that assigns nurses to differnent units because they are fully staffed and she doesnt know where to put me. each unit is suppose to have 2 nurses but sometimes they put 3 nurses if they have extra nurses. so sometimes she put me on the unit that makes me a 3rd nurse and a nurse manager and 2 other nurses are looking at me like " why are you here?" this happens almost every time i go to that facility to work. last weeekend, she told me i'm scheduled to work but found out i'm not even in the staffing book so that means she didnt schedule me like she said she would.
now i'm really upset about this. i have two options. one is to quit this job and another option is to tranfer to another facility. but i"ve worked at this facility for only 2 monthes and i dont know if i"ll be able to transfer to another facility, and reading threads about hospitals with low census and cancelling nurses i dont know if its good idea to transfer. what do you think i should do?

Is there some way for you to clarify with them
re: being scheduled to work?
A way to improve communication?
So that the know what you need, when you are
available. And so that they can improve in their
scheduling - by knowing more about that nature
of the scheduling issue.
