I recently got accepted into a new grad OR training program and was wondering if anyone has some advice? It is a 6 month training program where I will learn how to scrub and circulate-which I am very excited about! I've read a lot about starting in the OR and I know its not going to be a walk in the park.
Any advice on how to be successful in the OR and impress my new co-workers would be greatly appreciated :)

If you can look at the schedule for the next day to see what you're going to be doing ahead of time, go home and research the procedures. While you're in the OR, any time you don't understand something, ask questions. Also, whenever you're having a hard day and you feel like you're never going to get it, don't give up. It'll take at least a year for you to feel really comfortable with what you're doing, and even when you think you have it all down, you'll discover that you learn new things every day.
