Transition programs aren't based on GPA, unless there is a huge number of applicants. If your prereqs are done and they have a slot, you're in. Look at St. Petersburg College. They have a transition program starting every semester and the wait time is nearly zero. When I did it I applied in April and started in May. The drive from Tampa is annoying, but the program is excellent and you get finished that much more quickly.
I am currently in SPC's LPN-RN transition program. There are people in my class from Pinellas, Hillsborough, Paco and Manatee counties.
The course is first come first served. You need to have most if not all pre-reqs completed, valid LPN license and current BLS.
Clinical site selection is based on earliest registered for course and GPA.
Google is your friend :)
Here is the list of pre-reqs for SPC http://www.spcollege.edu/program/NURSE-AS#LPN

I will be finishing up my last two pre reqs this summer and fall and will apply to the transition program. I was just wondering about anyone that applied. How long did it take to get accepted. I am looking into other schools but HCC is closer to my house. Im trying to hurry up and finish I do not want to be waiting forever to get in the program. I graduated from Erwin this past July 09 and now Im waiting to go to summer school and finish A&P II and Micro this fall. So anyone that can help I appreicate it. Someone just told me that now they have a waiting list for the transition program.
