It took 11 days to find out. I thought I going to go crazy but I passed!!

The suspense is excruciating. And then to think I might have to wait even longer is making me lose my mind!

I had my NCLEX-RN today. I had the minimum 75 questions and it shut off and I completed it in about 30-40 minutes. I tried the Pearson Vue trick and got the results are on hold pop up. I searched online and saw that it is supposedly neither good nor bad. But it did say it could take longer to get your official results. Anyone else get this pop up and how long were your results on hold? My friend took it today as well and got 265 questions and got the "good" pop up. Any help is appreciated :)

Hello. I recently finished my LPN program and was Valedictorian. I am now in the LPN-RN transition program. When I was pregnant and delivered my son, I became obsessed with pregnancy and the labor process. When I was in the hospital giving birth I recieved such amazing care. When I started nursing school I knew I wanted to be a Labor Nurse. I then found out there is no way of becoming one as an LPN and even when I am an RN it is a highly competitive specialty. I want to make myself highly marketable as a labor nurse and get every certification available. I have the opportunity to get a preceptor the last two semesters of nursing school. But I do not know anyone in Labor and Delievery at any hospital nearby. I do have a rotation in L&D before I can apply for a preceptorship. So my plans are to become familiar with fetal monitoring and just become extremely knowledgable before I do my rotation. Then, hopefully I will be assigned to a sweet, amazing nurse who I can show my passion and knowledge to and they will want to precept me! So my question is.... what courses and certifications do you recommend getting in my situation? Thank you in advance.

I just finished the LPN program at their Brandon campus (right outside of Tampa) I am also planning on doing the LPN-RN bridge program there. No school is perfect and you will hear good things and bad things about every school. I loved it and that is why I am planning on returning. Not to say I didn't have some frustrating days there, I definitely had some rough days. But the good outweighed the bad. The school has an excellent curriculum and the faculty was fantastic. It is hard and fast paced but not impossible. I know at the Brandon Campus they have a 100% pass rate for the NCLEX. Everyone that graduated and passed the Exit Exam has passed their NCLEX on the first try. Hope I helped.

I am finishing up my LPN program in 3 weeks (!!!!!!!!!) and I am planning on going on for my RN. Here is the dilema. I love the school I am at and they offer the LPN-RN and you get an AAS. It is Nationally accredited but not regionally accredited. The communty college nearby also has the transition program but I would be starting there a year later and it would take me so much longer to get my RN. I have a 15 month old son and want to start working as an RN so the AAS track sounds very enticing. But I know I eventually want my MSN. How do you go from an AAS to MSN? USF is nearby and they told me they do not accept credits from schools that are not regionally accredited. So what does that mean? I have to start from scratch? I just want to know if it is possible for me to go from an AAS to MSN and how you go about it? Thank you so much, any help is appreciated :)

LovingLife, I am not sure if you have heard back about your acceptance to the program yet. But if this means anything to you, I called Dale Mabry campus nursing department today and spoke with them and they said last years lowest GPA for the transition program was 2.9. I think your 3.5 will be more than enough to get you in! I am looking forward to you posting your acceptance!

That is so good to hear. Do you have any idea on when they will let you know if you are accepted?

Keep me updated! good luck, I really think you have a great chance of being accepted. 3.5 is a good GPA and plus almost EVERYONE I spoke with said the transition is not as competitive as the generic. I really hope you get in!

I am sorry she spoke to you like that, some people are just plain nasty and I hope she didn't discourage you. I am an LPN student and one of the new nurses at the hospital just graduated from HCC and said someone in her class was admitted into the program with a 3.4. And that was the generic program, not the transition. I think you have a pretty good chance of getting it, that person you talked to was just a miserable dog. Did you already get everything sent it? I would like to keep in touch because I plan on going to same route as you and would like to hear your opinion of the admission process and school?

Oh no! I was just in there talking to an advisor about a month ago and they said last year the lowest GPA they let in the transition program was 2.8. Sounds like the advisor I spoke with didn't know what they were talking about. Did they give you any insight to what the range of GPAs they are accepting? Any info you can give me will be appreciated

Did you ever get any answers to your question? I am trying to find out GPAs and about the waiting list for transition and cannot find any info anywhere! If you know anything I would really appreciate it!
