I have an interview date for august. I am just so worried about being accepted and their accreditation is up in 2018. Plus, they have never been regionally accredited, which is okay; there the only crna program not regionally accredited and have never been (which means you cannot go get a doctorate anywhere else, but at there school only). I am just so afraid that we will graduate 2018 in the summer, and they accreditation is up in may of 2018. Anyone else applying, and if you have further information regarding this issue, please share?
I have heard that even if the COA approval runs out and they close they have to let the students finish out their terms. Went to an interview and really liked this place. I really don't think they will close the doors. People there were great and the students we talked to were really supportive of each other and it seemed to have a family atmosphere. Really liked the school and am excited about starting in February.
...the COA also said that if Wolford were to close voluntarily or involuntarily, they are required by law to provide a "teach out plan" that gives a detailed description on how students will meet the minimum requirements both didactically and clinically in order to be eligible to sit for boards. I'm not sure if this would be done through a different school, or if they would let currently enrolled students finish though.
I was just accepted for the class starting in February. Sounds like a huge risk to commit to this school. It sounds like if accreditation is pulled I would still finish with the teach through plan, but what would the quality of that education be? There is no guarantee that they'll be properly preparing us for our certification exam which is the most important part. If they're closing what do they care if we fail?
And at some point I'd like to get my doctorate so if they are the only school that recognizes our credits and they close, what does that mean?
It means attend another school if you're that concerned. I'm only partially kidding, but try contacting post masters dnp programs that you're interested in and ask if they accept Wolford graduates. I notice a lot of DNP programs say they want a masters from a COA accredited program, and not necessarily a a regionally accredited one. I'm sure if you were ok getting a generic DNP instead of a DNAP schools like walden and u of Phoenix would gladly take your money.
