Hi SRNAtobe,
I'll be attending Wolford this Fall. I am coming from Idaho so I'll be a long way from home. How about you? I will be moving down there mid-Sept to find an apartment and get ready for school to start.
I am selling my car here and flying down and buying a cheaper car to thrash while I'm in school. My husband will accompany me to help me get set up and then he'll go back home...whaaah:bluecry1:
Right now I'm in the middle of a summer session chemistry course that I promised to take to qualify for Wolford's program. It's kicking my orifice but I'm so glad I'm in this class. I don't remember hardly anything from my chemistry! This is getting me into the study mode and also giving me a much-needed refresher.
I'm also trying to talk to some anesthesia groups here in town to try to get some financial help for school. So far, I've come up with a big fat "0". They haven't responded to my enquiries yet.
I am beginning the dreaded Florida nursing licensure process. Man! what a hassle. You already have to give a fingerprint card to Wolford's background check people and then the Florida Nursing board does another background check. etc. etc. Oh well, the price of getting what I asked for I guess.
Hope your preps are going well. Take care and we'll see you in October.
hey there!
i'm also going to wolford. i've been stressing about how to pay for it, hence my post about stipends. my husband and i are both moving down but we are selling our house first. we currently live in alabama and are trying to plan another trip to naples to find a place to live. the problem is we have two labs and i'm thinking it's going to be hard to find a place to live. i'm also worried my study habits are rusty. i hope i can pick up and stay on top of things. thanks for starting this post srnatobe, maybe by the time we start school we all won't be total strangers!!
and here's a heads up about the florida license process. after you send in your initial license application, about a week later you have to go get fingerprinted again!!! it's crazy!

hello, rn bama....i've been reading this crna thread for a few weeks. i am a srna at your soon to be school. apt's are expensive 750-1500. i wanted to let you know about a place that takes BIG dogs. do a google search for "WAVERLEY PLACE APT'S"....not the greatest place, but it is cheap and 15 min from hosp and school. i feel your pain cause i have a doberman and can not afford to rent a house for 2k a month. disclamer...by no means is this the only place, i would hate for you to get into something you don't want....just offering info-hope it helps..P.S.
