Accepted to Wolford college
rent.com is helpful.......but if you have the time, come down here and pick up one of those apartment guides (found in gas stations) and call around. most places you can just show up and they will give you a tour. the paper down here has tons of leases for condos and houses. if you need a roommate gilbert can hook you up! good luck!!

Apply now?
I had the same problem when I first started in my unit. I had a year in a cardiac intervention unit...then moved up to open-heart recovery. I took someone's advice to go ahead and apply w/out the year's experience requiremnet. It paid off b/c I got in.....I say go for it. Like you said, what's the worst that can happen?

coworker competition
I completly understand where you are coming from! The unit I work in had 5 people applying for anesthesia school just from night shift! All of us applied to multiple schools but we only had one school in common. It was bad when interview letters went out.....and even worse when acceptance letters went out. 1 out of the 5 made it in. The good news is that the rest of us were accepted somewhere else. As impossible as it sounds, try not to compare yourself w/ the others. You have to think that you have some qualities they don't and vice versa.......but that is w/ all applicants, it just so happens that you are having to work w/ them. Think positvely...maybe you'll end up w/ a friend in the class

Wolford College Anyone??
Hey CRNA2b2008, good to hear from someone already in the trenches, so to speak! I've found a lot of houses to rent for about $1200.....but I was hoping for a lot cheaper!!! Good news.....we sold our house!!!

Wolford College Anyone??
hey there! i'm also going to wolford. i've been stressing about how to pay for it, hence my post about stipends. my husband and i are both moving down but we are selling our house first. we currently live in alabama and are trying to plan another trip to naples to find a place to live. the problem is we have two labs and i'm thinking it's going to be hard to find a place to live. i'm also worried my study habits are rusty. i hope i can pick up and stay on top of things. thanks for starting this post srnatobe, maybe by the time we start school we all won't be total strangers!! and here's a heads up about the florida license process. after you send in your initial license application, about a week later you have to go get fingerprinted again!!! it's crazy!

Stipends and how they work
i'll be attending wolford college of anesthesia in naples, florida. by the responses it looks like no one knows about stipends either.....

Stipends and how they work
hello all, i'm looking for information about stipend programs. the school i'm going to has no financial aid so i'm going to have to sign w/ a a group, but how do these things work? do they just pay for school? do they give you $$ each month to live off of? i really know nothing about it. anything anyone knows would help a lot! :bowingpur Thanks!

Waiting after interview........
the main reason i went ahead and interviewed at union is because at wolford they don't have financial aid....none, zip, zero, nada. so to go there i am going to have to sign on w/ a group and hope that they will give me a stipend. at union i could get loans, and even though it is more expensive it would all even out in the end if you factor in the cost of living in naples. and to answer your question about wolford's interview. it was great! they have all the interviewees in a room w/ a current student. the student answers any questions you have while you wait to interview. the panal was laid back, no clinical questions just "are you comfortable w/ lines, gtts, airway management?" the panal hyped up their school a lot so when i left i felt like i was meant to go there. the only thing holding me back is MONEY!!

Waiting after interview........
my interview went okay, but after i left i felt strange about it. i felt like there was awkward silences in between the questions and it made me feel like they didn't like my answers....but then again i could be over analyzing. my gpa is adequate but i only have 2 years rn experience, one of those being in ccu. my dad is a crna too and like you i don't have kids yet, so it sounds like we're kinda in the same boat!! i did like the simulation lab, that was pretty amazing! i think they said they were going to make their decisions on friday (16th) and we should know by the end of next week. i asked if they could let me know sooner, b/c i've been accepted to another school and their deposit deadline is the 16th. they said they couldn't promise anything but they would consider calling me on friday. so unless i hear something tomorrow i'll be going to wolford college in naples. good luck and let me know when you hear something!

Waiting after interview........
i interviewed at union on monday....what did you think about it?

Hey RNbama and Businessman...
i came in after the introductions for sure, b/c i sat there and tried to figure out what was going on for like 5 mins. i remember seeing two women come in from their interviews and sitting behind me, i was in the front row, w/ short blonde hair and a black dress. do you have on glasses, b/c i think i know who you are.....on any note, i am still waiting to hear something as well. i'm upset the mail won't run on monday, i keep thinking just one more day.......

Hey RNbama and Businessman...
hey icudoucme, i was the chick who was late!!!! ahhhhh! i left all the info and maps at home:banghead: so i showed up at the actual school at 7:20 and waited until 7:45 before i totally panicked. called the hospital and found out it was there, had my parents google it from their house, all the while frantically trying to drive across town to make it. i pulled in the parking lot at 8:05. thankfully no one in the interview knew i was late.....whew what a mess it was. other than that the interview went really well!

Anyone invited to interview at Wolford?
Thanks for the info Businessman! I leave on Friday and was getting very anxious! Now I know I have to calm down and, as you put it, stay "cool under pressure" Thanks again and I hope to meet ya'll in Naples in October!

i was going to apply there for this year, but they told me i had to have physics completed. i was thinking i could take it this summer and have it done before classes but they said that was a no go. if naples doesn't work out for me, i'll definately apply there next year! congrats to you sherry62!!! i can only imagine the relief of getting in!
