2013 Winter RPN Intake Georgian College (Barrie)

Published

Woohoo! I was accepted into the 2013 winter intake for Georgian College's RPN program. Who else is going to be there?

Also I wanted to thank everyone that has replied to my previous threads, all the information has be so helpful (:

hi there! I am thinking of taking nursing in the winter intake of 2014. I was wondering how hard it was to get into the program and how difficult the testing was to get in. I have to get my chemistry course as I graduated from highschool in 2001 before applying. can you tell me how difficult it is?

THANKS ALOT:)

I'm taking my BScN at Georgian/York and did the ow health sciences program for the year before. Half my pre health class went into rpn and a few of us went to the RN. If you take the pre health you et your chemistry and it also takes care of your communication courses and electives for the first year of your rpn. So I know the girls that went that route had a good backing in anatomy and also had a lighter course load in their first year. Something to think about if you need upgrading :)

Pre health students also have the HOAE testing included in their tuition and you need that test for applying to the rpn.

Hi There! I have been accepted into the RPN program at Georgian for Winter 2014. Just wondering if anyone knows what times classes generally start and finish each day?

Most programs have a registration date and various schedule options based on the number in your cohort. For example last semester we had a choice between schedules A through H. Some classes were similar and some were different, it also depends on your electives and what days they decide your clinical placements will fall on. One semester I had Mondays from 8am to 8pm and only a single mid day class on Thursdays and Fridays (I forget Wednesday and Thursday). The next semester I had late starts two days, a day off and a 10hr placement on Sundays. It's hard to guess what your schedule would be as its dependant on a lot of things.

I have been accepted into the RPN program at Georgian in Barrie for Winter 2014. what is your campus?

I am going to Georgian Barrie campus in September for RPN! (only a bit more than a week to go!) I did one semester of pre-health to get my chem, bio, math, and communication classes (I finished high school in 2000 so needed some upgrading). I found this helped a lot and now have some stuff fresh in my mind when I have to do anatomy and math for meds (dreading the math! lol) The HOAE was interesting to say the least...there were some strange questions on it, but also a lot of common knowledge things as well. Must say the pre-health helped with this also.

I just registered for my classes yesterday. I am there M-F but on Thursdays and Fridays I only have 1 class each day. ::)

Congratulations on your acceptance. I want to apply for the RPN program at Georgian for 2014 fall intake . I have a family with two kids so I'm really curious about the schedule. Whenever I approach the program coordinator they just say it's Mo-Fri. Would you mind sharing your schedule? You could even send me a personal msg.

Thank you!

I will be taking the RPN course in January 2014 as well ! I am also very curious about the schedule. I will be getting exempt from 6 courses overall because I have my Bachelors of Arts Psychology degree so that should take a nice bit of work off the load.

I will also be attending Georgian 2014. Any feedback on the program? I am kind of nervous but definitely looking forward to starting.

I live in Toronto, and will be traveling each day anyone else from Toronto?
