I'm a CNA at a hospital and currently work 3 nights (7p-7a) on a telemetry med/surg unit. I'm also going to school for my RN degree. I applied for a day shift job on my floor because I thought it would be easier with school. I do enjoy night shift but am sick of always being tired. Then I was offered a job in critical care (on nights). I love ICU so I accepted that one too with intentions to turn down the day job. Well then I started thinking about it and I realized with school days would be better, I'm taking an 8 am class next semester and have heard the ICU does not schedule well around school. So although I want the job I think I'm going to have to turn down the ICU job due to school. I'm really nervous about turning it down because I want to be in ICU someday as a nurse. I may or may not still be at the same hospital when I graduate and I don't want the manager to remember that I accepted a position then turned it down. I truly want to work in ICU but with school I just think days might be better. Would it ruin my chances of ever getting a job there in the future?
