Basically I didn't take college seriously in my freshmen year (Fall 2014). I got 3 C's (2.4 GPA with all the classes) in my freshmen year... yea, I know it's bad. Fast forward to Soph year, I was inspired by my mom's Nurse, and said, " Hey Nursing looks cool." (I like to help people)
Soph year I started taking college serious after learning that getting into a Nursing program is competitive. I've been getting straight A's or almost straight A's now (3.9 GPA ever since). If I keep up the pace, my overall GPA will be in the neighborhood of 3.72 - 3.75 before I apply to a Nursing school.
Here's the thing, I don't think my GPA will be competitive enough to be accepted to my dream school (SDSU). I still have a chance to get a 4.0 in the pre-reqs, though (30pts there). So what I want to do is retake those 3 C's to boost up my GPA. Obviously, my college won't let me retake those classes. Though, I'm aware that my college let's students retake a passing-grade class after 36 months (able to retake in Spring 2018) but I'm not planning on waiting that long.
FINALLY, HERE'S THE QUESTION...
Will other CC's let me retake those 3 C's I have? Or will they tell me the same thing as my other CC, to wait on the "significant lapse of time."?
P.S.: If it matters, I'm from San Diego, CA... AND SORRY if you spotted bad grammar. I'm up late at 4am here because I have this situation stuck in my head:(.
***Sorry if you hard-working students or Nurses don't see someone retaking satisfactory grade class as "fair." I'm aware that you had to work your but off the first try. But, in general, I think people deserve a second chance.***

I don't see where anyone said anything about it being fair or unfair, not sure who you were speaking to there. But I don't think the question you are asking is really the one you need an answer to. I'm sure another CC will let you take their course because you've never taken the course at their school before. The problem that might show up for you is that some schools are competitive enough to not allow repeats and they will see the second college coursework as a repeat, because of course that's what it is. If they have enough applicants without your academic troubles they will take those ones first. If the school is fine with your academic standing including the three repeated classes, then it won't be a problem. Only the nursing program you want to apply to can tell you if it's an issue or not.

Are your C's in any of the nursing prerequisites? Does SDSU look at the entire GPA? You may want to call the nursing department at SDSU and ask if they will even count the second attempt. Some schools only look at the first attempt, but I think this applies mostly to science prerequisites.
Your question is difficult to answer. You should probably try talking to counselors at SDSU and your community college. Always check your information though. I've heard of counselors, unintentionally, giving wrong information.
Sorry I can't help you very much. Nursing schools are extremely competitive in CA. They aren't too big on second chances. But, a GPA of about 3.7 isn't bad. You should be able to find a school that will accept you.
