I'm currently a LPN, working on completing my RN through Excelsior ( I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel finally!) (And no, it's not a train!)
I'm very interested in being a hospice RN once I finish. I've been told by hospice nurses that i've worked closely with that I have a "knack" for dealing with hospice patients and their families.
I've noticed a lot of job openings require 1-2 years of nursing in a clinical setting, and I'm wondering if that is usually RN experience, or if my nearly 10 years experience as a nurse in LTC / SNF will help me get my foot in the door at a Hospice agency.
Any insight from the Hospice nurses here?

In my view you would be given serious consideration.
For a field hospice position the employer is looking for someone who has experience with critical thinking and autonomous function. You have likely developed those skills to a reasonable degree while working as an LPN and educating.
Good luck.
