Will they hold my first career against me?

You may think I'm sounding paranoid, but I currently work in finance. I majored in English while in college, never meant to be in finance and have been trying to get out since I'm 25 but you can't exactly include this in your resume. With all the backlash against investment banks (not all unjustified though there are a lot of people earning lower than middle class incomes just trying to survive in it) do you think a prospective school or employer will hold it against me that I've worked in it for the past 12 years?

I received a BS in finance and worked in the industry over a decade before nursing school. If anything, it shows you were given responsibility over financial transactions and accountability.
