Will anyone hire a nurse with a reprimand on their license?

Published

I have a reprimand with stipulations on my license. Does anyone know an employer willing to hire me? I'm an LVN with 3 years experience in LTC and a doctors office. I admit to the error I made and I'm not complaining about the punishment. I've completed the state assigned retraining classes and paid my fines. Part of the stipulations are to work full time as an LVN. If I don't work the reprimand will remain on my license indefinitely. So can anyone help? I'm in the DFW area.

Thanks

Although the current economic state has made finding a job doubly hard for a nurse with a reprimand on his/her license, it is not impossible. I am also in the D/FW area, and your best bet for finding a job that will hire you with the reprimand is to start applying in person at the nursing homes during business hours. I have heard that the Fort Worth and Mid Cities area is more lenient with hiring than the Dallas side of the metroplex, so you might need to commute if you do not live in Tarrant County.

My deepest thanks!!!!!

Can you explain what does reprimand mean? I am also a health professional in texas and possibly being reprimanded on my license. thank you

According to thefreedictionary.com:

A severe, formal, or official rebuke or censure.

When employers and the public look up your license, they are going to see that you were issued a reprimand by the professional board that regulates your practice.
