Wife, mother of 5 and want to go to nursing school. How hard is it

I am a young mother of soon to be 5 children (6,5,2,1 and newborn) I am also married to a wonderful man who is supportive of my choice. I will be going to get my stna certificate in febuary but I want to start nursing school in Sept 2012 I hope to have a part time job as a stna by that time. I need advice because I dont know if I should wait til my kids get older and go. Because I have heard that it is really really hard but this is something I have wanted to do my whole life. I just dont wait to long by the time I wait I could be done. If I decide to go how to I manage nursing school being a wife and a mother all at the same time. I just dont want to give up on my dreams. I need you guys help.Thank you

@mommy 5 what has been the hardest part of nursing school being a mother of 5 young ones. What would u say has been the hardest subject for you. I just need as much insight as I can get. Because I founf a wonderful nursing school that will allow me to do evening and weekend class which will help out I think just give me as much info as you can lol lol

OK first of all I have always been an A and B student. I have an 80 in nursing. That has been hard for me to accept, but i am trying to keep in mind that I have more on my plate now than ever! School is a challenge but no really "hard". The hardest part is time management. I have to plan my mornings/days out to the half hour. My kids have a strict bedtime. While you manage your time and make schedules around school you also have to be flexible because in nursing school plans can change at the drop of a hat. And I know with me I prefer to have class and clinical in the mornings till noon it's just easier with little ones. Are you ready to start applying?

@mommy 5 I am ready to apply but I decided to wait til after I have my little girl in december of this year. I am a little nervous about this has been my dream my whole life I m just ready to get started.

I was in your shoes last year! I had applied then found out I was preg and got into the program(ours is extremely competitive). So I took off the spring with her. So that's a wise decision!! It worked great for us. I've even been nursing since I started school! I am glad i waited! I am in south ms where are you?
