I'm studying nursing because I hear they don't let you be a nurse without going to school first
Haha but seriously, I want to be a nurse because I love helping people. I feel corny saying it, I'm sure its the motivation for most people to go to into the field. I have a looot of energy, I love talking to new people and making friends, so a job where I run around all day and meet all sorts of new people really appealed to me. I worked as a CNA for 2 years and realized how rewarding it was to help people when they weren't able to do things for themselves, and I really wanted to be able to do more for the people I was caring for. So getting my BSN naturally was the next step!
I always wanted to be in the medical field but I knew I didn't want to be a doctor. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do. I even thought about being a pharmacist but later handing people drugs didn't sound that appealing. I went to Cambodia when I about 18 years old with family and if you've never been to a 3rd world country, GO. It will open your eyes but anyways, we drove pass a hospital and you can see the line of people waiting OUTSIDE the hospital and this was apparently "normal". I saw elderly individuals and mothers holding their babies, it was a shock. I remember it like it was yesterday. For some reason, that moment really did it for me, I wanted to be nurse and I wanted to help people. I already love helping people so doing it everyday would be a dream come true! I work as a CNA and LOVE it. I love the patient interactions and learning about the human body. I find it all very interesting so now I am in my junior of nursing!
