Why would a student be banned from a hospital?

Nurses Men

Last year, my wife and I offered our home to a "friend" of hers (actually, our duaghters were in the same school and my wife's Brownie troop together). At the time, she was working towards her 2nd year in Nursing school. She moved in in May 2006 and Moved out in October 2006. During that time, she was working at a local hospital, the same that she was doing her clinicals at. One day, she came home saying she was terminated from her job "for no specific reason" and was banned from the hospital and was banned from the hospital, preventing her from completing her 2nd year in the nursing program. Without any notice or reason? I somehow find this very hard to imagine. Is this even possible? I would think that there would be a number of interventions that would need to happen before. Is this possible? How bad would it have to be before someone were banned from a hospital?

........The most we were ever told was that her Boss had it out for her. .........

The only thing I can think of is ongoing serious safety issues that she was counseled on more than once and she didn't clean up her act. There is more she isn't telling you, and it's evident from the fact she used the words "for no reason" and "her boss is out to get her".

some schools will not allow a person to be employed in a hospital that your are doing your clinicals in as it would give the nurse adbantages over the other students unfamiliar.

Nursing shcool is not fair...they will kick out whoever, whenever...too bad, it is probably too late. when a few unfair things went on I went to the center for academic progress...they had my back. There isn't anything fair about nursing shcool....later...

If a student is fired from the same hospital that they are doing their clinicals, the hospital has a right to ban that person. Especially if it was something detrimental she did to get fired. It would be a conflict of interest to have a fired employee doing clinicals at the same hospital she was fired from. My dean informed our class that if we do get fired from a hospital where we are doing our clinicals, that we must inform her immediately so we can get our clinicals assigned to another hospital.

While there could be a conflict of doing clinical where you are employed, this would not be enough to dismiss her from work. Something happened that she is not willing to discuss with you. Sorry about that with as much generosity as you have shown.
