I love this forum and I love to hear about all the experiences :nuke:.
Why and when did you decide to become a CNA?
Here is my story. I'm a lisensed esthetician from Germany. While in esthetician school, I realized that I'm interested in the medical field. Anatomy, dermatology, orthopedy were my favourite subjects. I planned to become a massage therapist after school and to open my own business, but as God didn't plan this for me, it didn't work out with the massage therapy school.
I volunteered in a hospital for serval times and I always had fun working there. Because I love helping people, caring for others, and want to make a diffrence in peoples lives, I decited to go into nursing. CNA is just the beginning for me.
I'm a little scared , but I think that I will get used to seing things. At least that's what my grandmother told me (she works in an OR)

CNA is just the beginning for me, also. I changed majors 4 different times in college (and I'm only 21) because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I started out studying early childhood, because I love kids-I still want to work with children, but teaching just wasn't for me. Nursing always stayed in the back of my mind, but I never pursued it, because I always heard about the long wait lists in schools, and how hard nursing school actually was when you were in. I was scared. Now, I've decided to just go for it because there's nothing else I can picture myself doing.
I'm done with CNA training, I actually take my state exam & skills exam today! I'm extremely nervous about the skills part. :uhoh21: Which would probably explain why I woke up at 5 am this morning.
I plan to work in LTC for a little while, then get a job in a hospital. Then, I plan to go LPN to RN. My main goal is to work in pediatrics in the oncology unit. Good luck with your future nursing career! :)

DreamyEyes -- Don't be nervous!! I'm sure you'll do great. Make sure to let us know. Come back and tell me what your test was like -- I start training Sept. 10th so I need all the help I can get!
Thank you mrsraisinkain. :) I passed the written part, it was really easy-Now I just gotta pass the skills! I have to take it in about 2 hours. :uhoh21: I'll post my results later!
Okay so I passed the skills part, too!! Yayyyyyy!
I really lucked out-I got recording pulse, range of motion on right arm, and handwashing. I was soo nervous, but now I'm just relieved! I'm so happy. :)

Hey Katja
Was fuer eine Ueberraschung :-D
I live on Hawaii. My husband is in the military ;-). We've been here for little over two years.
An estethician specializes in the study of skin care, including facial treatments, body wraps, salt glows, waxing as a form of hair removal, and cosmetic make-up services. Some aestheticians work with dermatologists to offer more services, including laser hair removal, laser skin resurfacing, and many types of chemical peels. (Google)

Let me know how it goes. Good luck.
Heeey good job! Congrats :-D
It's seems like everybody passes the exams.
Yup, everyone freaks out because they're so nervous but then everyone passes. Everyone in my class passed.
