Why camp nursing?

Just looking for fellow Nurses inputs on why they chose to do camp nursing? How do you fit it into your schedule?

Do you have another job that allows you to do camp nursing in the summer?

I grew up going to a summer camp and my mom worked at the brother camp as a nurse. Once I was old enough to get a job/too old to be a camper, I started working at the boys camp. I have done a variety of things so when I got my RN I started doing the camp nurse thing. I love it.

I live locally to camp, so have been able to work a few shifts a week before this summer. This year I started a job as a school nurse so will the summer off :)

I am a school nurse so I have summers off. I am a camp nurse so that my kids can attend for a deep discount. I enjoy the experience and my kids absolutely love it!
