Who is starting CRNA school this Autumn?

Just checking to see what members of the board will be starting school in the next couple of months. Or, who has already been going part-time but is starting full-time?

I am done with bedside critical care (doing a chair dance as I type that sentence - close as can be to the flashpoint in that job description at my present hospital). Anxiety about the road ahead is simmering. Suddenly, two-and-a-half years seems like an awfully long time.

Is anyone doing any preparatory reading?

I started at Samford University (B'ham, AL) this past Monday and I am going FULL speed. I am taking Biochemistry, Gross Anatomy, Pharmacology and Scientific Thought (aka, Fluff 501).

I have 17 other class members and we all look like deer in headlights! :-)

To all of you getting ready to start this fall--don't read school books, take a nice break before the fun begins! Trust me.

It is definitely the hardest thing I've ever done, but I think I am going to love it!

I also am awaiting the meeting of all of you at twu on the 18th. I moved here to FT. Worth in DEC becuase I was so excited to get here and get settled. I have since purchased a domicile with a studio apt attached if any of you are intrested. I bought my books at majors a couple of days ago. I have read one chapter of chem but I think I will give it up and hope it just comes to me later. I hope you have all been by to see our glorious, brand new edifice. I am nervous and excited. If I think about it to long I get nauseated, I can't belive that after all this time this day is here. I liked that dan rather quote it remided me of a moment in the Fellowship Of The Ring when frodo is feels sick that such a plight has befallen him and gandalf says somthing to the effect of " so do all men who live to see such times" our course is not as perilous all though the potential is there with all the student loans and what not.

Hey guys,

congratulations to all of you for being accepted to your respective programs.

I have learned a ton of stuff on how to prepare myself to get into the position you all are in now from this board. It makes us CRNA wanna be's road much easier to follow by the direction paved by you SRNA and CRNAs ahead of us who were willing to share how you went about it.

Thanks guys, congradulations and good luck to all of you. B.T.H

well i made it to california. for those of you who have to go through west texas, please take something to fight the boredom. the ride from baton rouge was not quite that bad but i would not look forward to it again. school starts the 25th of this month. getting a litttle anxious to start this thing. good luck to everyone.

Congrats to everyone starting CRNA school this fall!!! I hope to be in your shoes in a few short years....

Congrats to all. I sit here and wait as I am one of those uncertain alternates at Webster in St. Louis MO. Good luck to all!

dneill01,

I read that you are an alternate at Webster. When did you apply? I applied this spring, for fall 2004. Maybe we could chat off the forum, as I have many questions about the school. Do you know much about the program. I did do a campus visit last winter, they seemed to have their act together. Let me know if I can email you off the forum with my questions

I'd be interested in hearing both your thoughts, as I am thinking of applying there within the next 2-3 years myself. You can pm me if you want.

Starting August 22, 2005 @ Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, LA.

First CRNA class ever at this school. Should be exciting and challenging. Good luck to all.

Starting at Mt Marty September 2nd. Sunday night was my last shift in the ICU, and so begins another big step in my goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist. I will definately try to enjoy time, but definately have the thought/excitement/trepidation/happiness of school starting around the corner constantly on my mind. Good luck to all who are starting, or who have already started.

Hey future classmates.. Hope everyone is enjoying the rest of their summer (going to miami this weekend). Just wanted to say hey and let's see about meeting up maybe the saturday before school starts as a sort of "meet and greet". Let me know what you all think.
