What is the state of "simulator" technology these days...
SIU-E has one and it looked really interesting, I got to see it when I was there for my interview. I can't wait to use it. Sounds like it can simulate about any type of situation. It sure looks real.

Texas Bound
Congratulations to you on your acceptance. I used to live in Texas and loved it. I miss it like crazy, especially with all this winter weather here in Iowa. My dream someday is to move south again and get out of this cold and snowy climate.

Big Reject
Molly, I am sorry to hear of your rejection letter. You have to keep trying and know that you are not a lesser person because of this rejection. Call the school, ask what you can do to improve your appliation next year. They will usually tell you what your weak areas are on your application and what they would recommend you do to improve.

interview question
I was actually asked this question in my last interview, I was not prepared for it either. I thought only briefly about it befroe I answered with something like this- I am honest, hardworking, dependable, a patient advocate and a prefectionist in caring for my patients. Not sure if they liked my answer or not, but I have been accepted to the program. Just be honest and not afraid to pat yourself on the back occassionally

SIU-E CRNA program
I have applied to this program, however, I do not know much about it. I have spoken many times with the graduate advisor and she has been very helpful to me. I do know that they are sending out interview letters in Dec and plan on interviewing the first and second Sat. of Jan. Two days does not seem like it would provide much time for the interviews, I will have to wait and see if I get a letter.

I want to thank each of you who has offered me words of wisdom and encouragement. I am glad to know that I am not alone in this quest to become a CRNA and that everbody goes through similar stresses. Reading these posts has been a great help. Again, a big thank you to each person that responded.

help please
Hi, I am wondering how all of the people on this forum deal with everything that is involved in getting into Nurse Anesthesia school. I am beginning to feel that this whole process has taken over the majority of my life. Don't get me wrong, I really want to become an Anesthetist. What I am trying to say is, that I think about this process one way or another most of my waking hours. I have had an interview, got the rejection letter as most you know and now have another interview scheduled in Dec. How do you focus on other things in life, I have my job and spouse, but I still find myself worrying about what the interview will be like, if I will get in, etc. I think you all get the picture. Anyone have any advice for me?

Wife of CRNA Student
SRNA04, I see where you wrote that you applied to MSA, did you interview there? If so, how was the interview? What type questions were you asked? I have an interview scheduled there in Dec. and any help would be apprecaited. T

icu experience
just curious of how many on this forum whom are trying to get into anesthesia school work in a ICU that is not in a big trauma center or large hospital. Anybody working in a small rural hospital? As I said I am just curious?

rejection letter
I received the dreaded letter telling me I didn't get into the program I just interviewed at. So, I wrote the director and ask what my weaknesses were and got the following response. I was told that my interview scores were not real high. When applicants score high in the interview, it's because they come in with a great deal of enthusiasm for nurse anesthesia in general, and this program in particular. Typically, a successful candidate knows a lot about the program, and what makes it different from other programs. I am not sure what all this means, I felt I showed great enthusiasm, I guess just not enough, how does one express great enthusiasm and still be a professional and not let them know that you desperate to get into the program. I have read everything I can get my hands on about how to interview well, thought I was doing all the right things. I have another interview coming up in a few weeks and hope to have some input from you all before I go into this interview. Any help will be apprecaited. T
