Who prescribes for themselves or family

I started this conversation with a group last week, and thought I would continue it here.

How many of you prescribe for yourself, or family or friends?

How long have you been practicing?

Why take the risk self-prescribing or prescribing for family? Anyone who works in this role should have some colleagues that are willing to call in a script if it is appropriate, and if you are to embarrassed to ask them, then it's probably not appropriate to begin with.

I have called in a script for my wife when she went to her PCP for a sick visit and the script never made it to the pharmacy, but it was the same script prescribed by her PCP.
