Who pays?

Published

I have a question and I hope someone can please help me answer? Because being a new fnp graduate I'm just not sure. Should the employer pay for hotel or travel arrangements for interview if out of state from where you live? Or is it the interviewer's responsibility to get there? I'm having different people tell me different things so I'm so unsure. I have an interview for a potential job but its in several states away. They seem eager to interview me being a new graduate but its definitely to far to drive and they want to see me rather quickly. So what is the most appropriate thing to do? PLEASE HELP

Yes they should pay. This should be an important hire for them. They would pay for a physician hire they should pay for you. Unwillingness to pay interview expenses should be a warning sign.

Thank you, I just wasn't sure. When I mention it to the MD who wanted to interview me she paused then said she had to discuss it with her partner and get back to me. So I wasn't sure if it is appropriate for me to ask. Thanks so much.
