Hello everyone!
I'm working on my cover letter right now and I was wondering who I should address it to. Should I address it to the actual nurse recruiter or the nurse manager of the particular unit? I'm planning on calling the hospital that I am interested in to find out the name.
Another question, given the tough economy do you think it would be beneficial if I volunteered at the local hospital? I just recently moved to Northern Calif (Sacramento area) because of my husband's job so I'm still settling in and what not.
Thank you for those who do respond!

You should definitely call the hospital and ask the nurse recruiter.. even if it is to be addressed to the nurse recruiter they won't mind you asking.. and volunteering at the hospital could only help you..
Any kind of exposure would be beneficial!
Good luck!

When my daughter was a teenager she volunteered at the hospital and noticed that volunteers transitioned to paid employees, one of them in the ER. That fact greatly impressed her at the time.

+ 1 You could also ask the hospitals receptionist the names of unit managers.
