Whistleblower law

Published

I am very curious to know if the whistleblower act is passed in Pa? I was recently fired for being honest when the DOH of Pa came in for an inspection by my facility. It was over something petty but I kept my honesty at 1005 when the state inspector asked me, and after she left they fired me. I am still in very much in a state of shock.

Thanks,

Tina

state whistleblower laws in pa only applies to public employees at this time.

however if fraud involves billing for services to governemtn agency: medicaare, medicaid then can persue under false claims act. please seek legal assistance to see if you have a case.

I have seen cases on the internet for "whistleblower" with nurses reporting bad care and then being fired for reporting bad care. Why doesnt this apply to nurses?

Pa is an employment at will state.
