Hello all nurses!
I am looking into stethoscopes and see littmans, ADC & ultrascopes.
Anyone who has tried both or all 3, which is better?
I've heard ultrascope is amazing for lung sounds, but no comment on heart/bowel.
I currently have an adult littman but I'll be working PEDs so I wants to purchase one for PEDs.
Thanks :-)

I use a Littman Cardiology II, it was worth every penny :)

I have an ultrascope, littman classic II and a littman cardiology III. While ultrascope is awesome, the cardiology III is way better. Definitely worth the money.

Don't waste your money on a pediatric stethoscope. Base your purchase on the sounds you'll most often be auscultating. In peds that's usually breath sounds. The one you're using now will do just fine unless you'll be working with mainly cardiac patients. I've worked in peds my whole career - cardiac for 13 years - and mine is a normal old Littmann II.

I have a Litmann Classic something or other, I have no idea what it is - I just know it was pricey and it's amazing. I accidentally picked up a cheap-o at work that belonged to another RN but looked similar to mine - and WOW, the difference between the two was night and day.
When I started working in peds, I bought one of the cute tiny pediatric litmanns, and I NEVER use it. And I take care of neonates sometimes as young as 2 and 3 days old. Unless you are going to be working with just tiny babies all the time - I really don't see the point. :)
