Which States Don't Accept Ec???

Published

Hey! Does anyone know which states do not do not allow you to practice if you received your RN through through Excelsior College? I've heard California.

California wont definetly. Those of us in Florida are going through alot of crap with the BON here, if you arent an LPN to RN student. You should contact the BON of whatever state you want to work in and see. Arizona has a few stipulations I believe. Alot of states make you take Boards in one state, and then another state will endorse that license for you to work there. Hope this helps.

As of 04/2004 these states will not let a non-LPN sit for the board, Alabama, Calif., Illinois, Louisiana, Washington and Georgia however Georgia will allow endorsement. I am not sure if the other states ( with the exception of Ca. ) will except endorsement.Arizona now has a Clinical clause for non-LPN's, requiring 120 hrs for non-LPN 's but I do not know the " as of " date.

I have heard that Illinois will accept an EC nurse after a period of time working as a nurse in state like Missouri that accepts EC. Can anyone confirm that?
