Which Saunders review book to use??

Published

Hi All! I recently received as a gift the green "Saunders Q&A Review for the NCLEX-RN examination, edition 3. copyright 2006." It has a disk with it, and total of over 5000 questions.

On the back of the book it lists other titles and one that caught my eye is the blue Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination--4 Color Reprint, 3rd Edition"

Now I'm wondering if the book I have is the Saunders book that everyone talks about, or is the blue one the right one? Or does it really matter? Do I need both??

I'm taking my NCLEX in June or July but I want to get going with the review questions now to help me during my final semester (med-surg).

(I have the Kaplan book, the Nursing Made Incredibly Easy review book, the Nursing 3000 CD and the Cliff's Notes reveiw book.Out of those, the Nursing 3000 CD is what I like best and the Cliff's Notes is what I like least.)

If anyone knows if either Saunders book is better than the other please let me know! :)

the Saunders comprehensive review for nclex rn (green one ) is the one that i also used.. i ve learned a lot from it and i guess there's really not much difference between the green one and the blue one(3rd edi.)most of my friends used the green one and they passed the nclex..:wink2:

I have the saunders comp. review (blue book) and used it to help study for test all the way through school. I like it the best, easy to understand. Just bought a Lippincott and it's tough! I get most of the questions wrong. I can't believe there is so much difference in the books. I graduate in 2 days!!!:) I will start with the saunders to review for boards.:uhoh3:

Congrats on graduation! You will do well, I'm sure...I graduate next December!

I am officially finished with school BSN-RN as of December 6, '05 and my pinning is on the 11th I have all my final grades in and I have passed everything and I have the Saunders comprehensive review book. This book really helps and it is indeed good.

I guess it is time to start studying for the NCLEX and I mail my papers off tomorrow. Well good luck to everyone and I too recommend Saunders Comprehensive Review Book. Oh and I have Lippincott seventh edition and it seems extremely easy so I guess it's all an opinoin.

I've been using an old edition of Saunders (1999) all through nursing school and plan to use it as my primary study tool for nclex. however I notice that the other editions that have come out are thinner than mine. i know that now she includes the new format questions in the newer books but I wonder has the content been streamlined? According to Amazon there is a 200 page difference between mine and the blue one. Is it worth it for me to buy the new one? Also How do you guys reccomend that I use the cd from the saunders q&a book?

:uhoh21:

thanks
